The Teufelssee is located in the district of Berlin-Köpenick about 750 m south of the Großer Müggelsee at the foot of the Kleiner Müggelberg in the Köpenicker Bürgerheide.
The shallow, nutrient-rich lake is a raised moor that was formed during the Ice Age and was eroded as a depression by the melt water from the ice. As the ground is partly boggy, a large part of the trail leads along wooden plank paths.
Der Teufelssee liegt im Ortsteil Berlin-Köpenick rund 750 m südlich des Großen Müggelsees am Fuße des Kleinen Müggelbergs in der Köpenicker Bürgerheide.
Der flache und nährstoffreiche See ist ein in der Eiszeit entstandenes Hochmoor, das vom Schmelzwasser des Eises als Senke ausgestrudelt wurde. Da der Untergrund teilweise morastig ist, führt ein Großteil des Pfads über Holzbretterwege.
