The Max Eyth Lake was created by gravel mining in Stuttgart-Hofen. 1934/35, the area was expanded to sports and bathing facilities. The lake was named in 1936 after the engineer and writer Max Eyth (1836 – 1906). In 1961 the site was placed under landscape protection.
Der Max-Eyth-See entstand durch den Kiesabbau in Stuttgart-Hofen. 1934/35 wurde das Gebiet zur Sport- und Badeanlage erweitert. Der See wurde 1936 nach dem Ingenieur und Schriftsteller Max Eyth (1836 – 1906) benannt. 1961 wurde das Gelände unter Landschaftsschutz gestellt.
